SUPPORTIVE PELVIC FLOOR PHYSICAL THERAPY NEAR ME

Pain Relief, Perineal Tear Prevention & More

You're probably wondering what physical therapy can do for you during pregnancy. We offer a variety of services to help relieve pain, prevent perineal tearing, and improve your overall experience. Dr. Kailee will create a custom care plan based on your specific needs and goals.

Dr. Kailee and her team provide care in three stages:

First Stage

We calm overactive muscles using manual (hands-on) therapy, look at any current stressors or mental health problems you may be facing, and focus on good breathing techniques.

Second Stage

We help you re-coordinate your muscles, bringing on any muscles that are underactive to help overactive muscles. This includes first-stage techniques with the gradual addition of specific exercises. We'll look at all the activities you want to do and make sure your muscles are coordinated to meet your specific goals.

Third Stage

The last stage involves strengthening your body as a whole system, ensuring that none of problems we've addressed will return.

Some of the most common issues we help women with include:

Hip Pain During Pregnancy

Hip pain during pregnancy hurts to walk and can limit your mobility. We'll show you how to relieve hip pain during pregnancy with exercises, stretches, and manual therapy.

Upper Back Pain During Pregnancy

Back pain is one of the most common complaints during pregnancy. We'll show you how to ease back pain with a variety of techniques, including stretches, strengthening exercises, and manual therapy.

Diastisis Recti

Also known as abdominal separation, diastisis recti can cause a lot of pain and may even make it difficult to walk or sit up. We’ll show you how to tell if you have diastisis recti while pregnant and how to fix diastisis recti using targeted exercises and manual therapy.

Perineal Tear Prevention

Using hands-on perineal massage techniques, we'll teach you how to properly relax your pelvic floor muscles and take the proper positioning for labor. We can help you manage any pain, address any fears you have related to labor and learn how to properly push to limit strain on your body.

Labor & Delivery

We offer a variety of services to help you have a more enjoyable labor and delivery, including perineal massage, relaxation techniques, education on the different stages of labor, and more.

Problem Prevention

If you have prolapse or incontinence, we'll help you learn prevention techniques like pressure management and good bowel and bladder habits.

Labor Prep Program:

Our labor program can prevent perineal tearing, shorten labor, improve chances of vaginal birth, and reduce the risk of traumatic birth. Our program can be performed virtually from the comfort of your home.

How to relax your pelvic floor

This is the foundation of our program. Learn to relax your pelvic floor through breathing, touch, and mental hacks.

How to push

This imperative for first time moms, second time moms who tore before, or moms aiming for a VBAC. It is one of the most overlooked skills in preventing perineal tearing.

Perineal massage

Our 3 step process helps to break down scar tissue, relax muscles, and teach the brain that the sensation of crowning is "safe" to prevent perineal tearing

Positions that are best for your body at each stage of labor

Learn what positions you push in best and which ones open your pelvis to help prevent stalls in labor, improve chances of vaginal birth and prevent perineal tearing

Pain management

Confidently manage pain with techniques that you won't learn in childbirth ed class. These tools are helpful if you want an epidural or want to go medication free. This can help improve chances of a vaginal birth.

Address fears surrounding birth

We all have fears about labor. We need to address our fears and teach our pelvic floors and nervous systems to stay calm to improve chances of a vaginal birth, shorten labor, and prevent perineal tearing.
